Revenue is what they report.
Net is what you keep.

TrueNett connects to Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad, Shopify and every other platform that pays you — then subtracts the fees, refunds, taxes and expenses they don't show you. One dashboard. One honest number.

The problem

Your revenue number is a headline. It's not the story.

Every platform leads with gross revenue — the number before their cut, before refunds, before taxes. It's the number that makes them look good, not the one that pays your rent. Here's what a “$120K year” actually looks like.

What Stripe tells you

$120,000

Gross volume · Looks like a great year

This is the number you screenshot, celebrate, and plan your life around. It is also a number you will never receive.

$39,000 — nearly a third — never reached you. Most people find out in April, from their accountant. TrueNett shows you in real time, all year.

The hidden money leak

It's not one hole in the bucket. It's eight.

No single deduction feels big enough to track. That's exactly why, combined, they quietly take 20–40% of what you earn. TrueNett itemizes every one of them, automatically.

3–10%

Platform fees

Every marketplace takes its cut before you see a cent — Gumroad up to 10%, app stores up to 30%. It's deducted quietly, per sale.

2.9% + 30¢

Processor fees

Stripe, PayPal and friends charge per transaction. On small-ticket sales, that flat 30¢ alone can be 3% of the price.

2–5%

Refunds

The sale you already celebrated, un-sold. Worse: most processors keep their fee even when they return the customer's money.

$15–25 each

Chargebacks

A dispute costs you the sale, the product, and a penalty fee on top — whether or not you win the dispute.

1–4%

Currency conversion

Selling globally means settling in currencies you didn't choose, at rates you didn't set. The loss never appears as a line item — until now.

15–35%

Taxes

The biggest deduction of all, and the only one nobody dashboards. Spending your gross like it's yours is how tax-season panic happens.

$200–800/mo

Software subscriptions

Notion, Figma, hosting, email tools, that AI thing you tried in March. Each is small. Together they're a salary.

varies

Ads & contractors

Editors, designers, ad spend that 'probably paid for itself.' Without tracking it against revenue, you're guessing.

Why existing tools fail

You already have dashboards. None of them answer the question.

Each tool you're using was built to answer someone else's question — the platform's, the accountant's, the IRS's. TrueNett is built to answer yours: what did I actually earn?

Stripe Dashboard

Sees one platform. Leads with gross.

  • Blind to PayPal, Gumroad, AdSense — everything else
  • Headlines gross volume, not what you keep
  • No expenses, no taxes, no full picture

QuickBooks / Xero

Built for accountants, not for you.

  • Days of setup, chart-of-accounts jargon
  • Treats a Gumroad payout as one opaque lump
  • Answers compliance questions, not “what did I make?”

Spreadsheets

Accurate for exactly one afternoon.

  • Manual CSV exports from every platform, every month
  • One broken formula silently corrupts everything
  • Stale the moment you hit save
TrueNett

One honest number

Built for the person running the business.

  • Every platform in one place, automatically
  • Leads with true net — after every deduction
  • Fee-level detail on each transaction
  • Always current as payouts settle

How it works

From scattered payouts to one true number, in five steps.

No bookkeeping knowledge. No chart of accounts. No weekend lost to setup.

  1. 1

    Connect your platforms

    ~2 minutes per platform

Authorize read-only connections to Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy and the rest. OAuth or restricted keys — TrueNett can look, never touch.

  2. 2

    We import every transaction

    Automatic, including history

Sales, payouts, fee lines, refunds, disputes — including history, so your past months get reconciled too, not just the ones ahead.

  3. 3

    Categorize your expenses

    Once — then it's remembered

Add subscriptions, contractors and ad spend once. TrueNett remembers each category and applies it to everything that follows.

  4. 4

    See your true net income

The number your bank agrees with

Fees matched to transactions, currencies normalized, refunds netted out, your tax rate applied. One reconciled figure that updates as payouts settle.

  5. 5

    Act on what you learn

    Insights, not just charts

Refund spikes, fee creep, a subscription you forgot, margins thinning on one platform — surfaced as alerts and insights, not buried in rows.

3

Alerts that earn their keep

TrueNett flags anomalies — a refund spike, fee creep, a margin dropping on one platform — before they cost you a quarter.

One subscription. The whole financial picture.

No feature gates, no add-ons, no 'contact sales' tier. Every account gets everything.

True net income

Gross minus everything — the one number the whole product exists for.

Cash flow

When money actually arrives and leaves, not when a sale is booked.

Revenue by platform

Compare Stripe vs Gumroad vs PayPal on net, not gross.

Subscriptions, contractors and ads — categorized once, deducted forever.

Refund analytics

Rates by product and platform, so you can fix the cause, not just eat the cost.

Reports & CSV export

Clean monthly statements your accountant will actually thank you for.

Who it's for

If you get paid by a platform, the platform is rounding up on your behalf.

TrueNett is built for anyone whose income arrives through processors and marketplaces — which, in 2026, is almost everyone working for themselves.

YouTubers

AdSense, sponsorships, memberships and merch all pay differently.

One net figure across every income stream — and which ones actually carry the channel.

Freelancers

PayPal fees, Wise transfers, late invoices and quarterly-tax guesswork.

What each client is really worth after fees and FX, plus a running tax reserve.

Agencies

Retainers in, contractor payouts and software costs right back out.

True margin per client — so you can fire the ones quietly losing you money.

Indie hackers

Stripe MRR looks great; hosting, APIs and churn tell another story.

Real profit per product, not vanity MRR. Know when you can go full-time.

Course creators

Gumroad's 10%, refund windows, and affiliate cuts eat launches.

Launch post-mortems with true net per product — and refund patterns to fix.

Shopify stores

Revenue is easy. Profit after fees, apps, shipping and ads is a mystery.

Contribution margin per month without a 40-tab spreadsheet.

Consultants

Multiple currencies, wire fees, and expenses scattered across cards.

A clean per-engagement P&L you can glance at between calls.

Newsletter writers

Paid subs on one platform, sponsors on another, referrals on a third.

Total take-home per issue and per sponsor — instantly.

Coaches

Session payments, program sales and payment plans across processors.

Which offers are profitable after refunds and fees — not just popular.

Integrations

Wherever you get paid, we reconcile it.

Official APIs, read-only access, historical import. Don't see your platform? CSV import covers everything else — and waitlist members vote on what we build next.

Before / after

The same business. A very different feeling.

Life before

  • Ten browser tabs and a CSV folder named “finances_FINAL_v3”
  • An hour of copy-pasting every month — when you remember
  • Numbers that never quite match your bank balance
  • Tax estimates done in your head, badly, in April
  • A vague, low-grade anxiety about whether you're actually profitable

Life with TrueNett

  • One pinned tab with one reconciled number
  • Zero manual work — it updates as payouts settle
  • A net figure your bank statement actually agrees with
  • A tax reserve that grows with every sale
  • The quiet confidence of knowing exactly where you stand

Pricing

One plan. Because the point is clarity.

A pricing page with four tiers and an asterisk would be a strange way to sell financial honesty. So: everything TrueNett does, for $15 a month. No per-platform surcharges, no locked features, no “Pro” upsell.

And the math is comfortably on your side. One forgotten subscription, one undisputed chargeback, or one mispriced product costs more than a year of TrueNett. Most users find one of those in their first week.

Join during early access and $15/mo is locked in for life — the public price will be higher.

FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers.

Anything else? Email hello@truenett.com — a founder replies.

What exactly does TrueNett do?

TrueNett connects to the platforms that pay you — Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy, Shopify and more — imports every transaction, and subtracts platform fees, processor fees, refunds, chargebacks, currency-conversion losses, estimated taxes, and your operating expenses. The result is your true net income: the number that actually lands in your pocket, not the gross figure platforms show you.

How is this different from my Stripe dashboard?

Stripe only knows about Stripe, and it leads with gross volume. It doesn't see your PayPal income, your Gumroad sales, your AdSense payouts, your software subscriptions, or your tax bill. TrueNett combines every income source and every deduction into one reconciled number — so you don't have to open six dashboards and a spreadsheet to figure out how the month really went.

Can't I just use a spreadsheet?

You can — most of our users did, right up until a formula silently broke or they fell three months behind on exports. Spreadsheets require you to manually download CSVs from every platform, normalize currencies, remember every fee schedule, and keep doing all of that every single month. TrueNett does the same reconciliation automatically and stays current as new payouts settle.

Is TrueNett an accounting tool like QuickBooks?

No — and that's deliberate. QuickBooks is built for accountants doing double-entry bookkeeping and formal compliance. TrueNett is built for the person running the business who wants to answer one question fast: "What did I actually make?" You can still hand your accountant clean exports at tax time; TrueNett just makes sure you understand your numbers all year round.

Which platforms does TrueNett support?

At launch: Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, and PayPal. Coming soon: Shopify, Paddle, Google AdSense, and Wise. Direct bank-account connections are on the roadmap. You can also import CSVs from any platform we don't yet connect to natively.

How does TrueNett estimate taxes?

You set your estimated effective tax rate (or separate rates per income type), and TrueNett applies it to your reconciled net so you always see a post-tax figure. It's an estimate to keep you honest with yourself — not tax advice — and you can adjust the rate anytime or turn the feature off.

Does TrueNett handle multiple currencies?

Yes. Payouts in EUR, GBP, INR or any other currency are normalized into your base currency using the actual settlement rates where the platform provides them, so FX losses show up as their own line item instead of silently shrinking your totals.

Is my financial data safe?

All connections use official, read-only APIs — TrueNett can never move money, issue refunds, or modify anything in your accounts. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and we never sell or share your data. You can disconnect a platform and delete your data at any time.

Do you need my bank login?

No. TrueNett connects to payment platforms via their official APIs (OAuth or restricted API keys). Bank connections are a future, strictly optional feature — and when they arrive they'll use a regulated aggregator with read-only access, never your raw credentials.

How long does setup take?

About two minutes per platform. You authorize the connection, TrueNett imports your history (up to several years where the platform allows), and your dashboard fills in on its own. There's no chart of accounts to configure and no bookkeeping knowledge required.

Can I track my business expenses too?

Yes. Recurring costs like software subscriptions, contractors, and advertising can be added manually or imported, then categorized once — TrueNett remembers the category and deducts them from your net automatically going forward.

I run more than one business. Can I keep them separate?

Yes. Workspaces let you keep each business (or each client, if you're an agency) fully separate, each with its own connections, expenses, and reports — and you can still see a combined view across all of them.

Can I export my data?

Always. Every report and the underlying transaction data can be exported to CSV at any time — for your accountant, your co-founder, or your own spreadsheets. Your data is yours; there's no lock-in.

What does TrueNett cost?

One plan: $15/month, everything included — unlimited platform connections, all features, no per-platform surcharges, cancel anytime. Early-access members lock in this founding price permanently, even as the public price rises later.

Why should I pay for this when platforms show dashboards for free?

Because free dashboards show the number that makes the platform look good — gross revenue. If you've ever been surprised by a tax bill, discovered a subscription you forgot to cancel, or realized a 'great month' was actually break-even, the visibility pays for itself many times over. Most users find recoverable leaks worth far more than $15 in the first month.

What happens after I join the waitlist?

We onboard in small batches so every early user gets real attention. You'll get an email when your spot opens, a guided two-minute setup, and a direct line to the founders for feedback and requests. No credit card is required to join the list.
